Job Title: Surgical Room Nursing Administration Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Administration Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of acute care experience License: Required nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and other position-specific certifications Must-Have: Critical care experience preferred, EPIC experience required Description: This role is located in a Level I Trauma Center designated by Magnet status. The facility has a total of 794 beds. The unit consists of approximately 28 beds, including hybrid rooms for cardiovascular and vascular procedures. The average patient census is about 60-75 cases per day. Candidates willing to accept first-time travel positions are welcome to apply. The patient population includes both outpatient and inpatient individuals. Common diagnoses involve trauma cases, including gunshot wounds, stabbings, and transplant patients. Additional patient types include general cases, gynecology, urology, robotics, vascular, orthopedic, neurological, and open heart surgeries. Hybrid rooms typically handle 5-10 cases per day, depending on scheduled procedures. The adult population is primarily served, though there is a 20% pediatric component for specific surgeries. Experience with hybrid patient types and Siemens equipment is necessary. Members of this position may assist in surgical cases related to the Gifts of Hope program. The role includes responsibilities for scrubbing, circulating, and performing surgical assistant duties as required. Support within the department includes charge nurses, resource nurses, surgeons, educators, and service line representatives. Familiarity with EMR systems, particularly EPIC, is necessary. Weekend rotation is required every fourth weekend. Shifts will be integrated based on unit needs and staff scheduling. The operating room is open 24/7, with a skeleton crew available for trauma and urgent cases after hours. All requests for time off should be submitted in writing. Holiday coverage is required, and on-call duties may be assigned based on shifts and service lines. Sleeping accommodations are provided for on-call team members. Scrub colors are provided by the facility.
