Selector Perishables

Job Summary As a Selector, you will properly, efficiently, and accurately pick product to neatly build pallets for our clubs. The distribution centers are temperature controlled, ranging from 30°F in the cooler to -20°F in the freezer. Selectors may lift between 50–100 lbs of product and operate powered equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks. Key Responsibilities Select damage‑free product to build pallets according to customer specifications, keeping labels facing out and arrows facing up. Verify products against pick tickets and case labels, and submit complete, legible, accurate paperwork. Maintain the required productivity level and 99.9% accuracy standard. Check pallet condition and exchange pallets when necessary. Report damage and inventory discrepancies promptly to the supervisor. Maintain cleanliness and repair of dock and facility areas. Assist in wrapping and stacking pallets for safe transport to storage. Safely operate material handling equipment after training. Maintain all food safety, housekeeping, and applicable standards. Ensure regular and consistent attendance. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education, or comparable business experience is a plus. Warehouse experience preferred. Experience operating material handling equipment preferred. Ability to handle and prioritize requests from multiple sources. Strong accuracy and attention to detail. Basic math skills to ensure proper height and counts and verify pallet ID numbers. Ability to follow directions using headset selection systems such as VoCollect. Ability to accommodate flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Environmental Job Conditions Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs and occasional lifting up to 100 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting in a refrigerated warehouse environment. Grasp, reach, push, or pull (e.g., boxes of product, hand truck) frequently. Build pallets up to 6 feet tall with case weights up to 50 lbs. Continuous, fast‑paced work requiring endurance. Temperature fluctuations within the perishable DC, including freezing temperatures as low as -20°F. Work while wearing appropriate PPE such as steel‑toed protective footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc. Products may contain food allergens (fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.). Use equipment safely after training (computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, pallet jack, etc.).
