Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - PACU for a Same Day Program requiring 2-3 years of experience and recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience.

Details

• Work in a 42-bed pre and post-op recovery unit within a Same Day Program
• 1:2 patient ratio during phase one recovery
• Provide care across all service areas including gyn, ortho, plastics, vascular, cardiology, general surgery, ENT, and neuro
• Unit handles pre-op for the entire hospital including inpatient services
• Support 28 OR bays plus procedural areas including cath lab, IR, EP lab, and MRI
• Average daily volume of 70 recoveries and 95 pre-ops
• 4x10 schedule with varied start times ranging from 6:00a to 11:00a
• 40 hours per week
• No on-call responsibilities
• No weekend requirements
• Team-based approach with no fixed patient assignments

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification preferred
• 2-3 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years required
• Pediatric experience highly preferred, though training is available for the right candidate
• Experience in a larger hospital (500+ beds) preferred
• Strong IV skills required

Additional Information

• Provide pre and post-operative recovery care for patients of all ages across a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Work collaboratively as a team, jumping in wherever needed across the unit
• Two guaranteed breaks per shift
• Orientation includes 3 days of preceptorship for adult cases and 4 days for pediatric cases
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Strong attitude and adaptability needed given the high case volume and limited downtime
