Job Description

The Cardiology RN collaborates in a team environment to coordinate patient care in the Cardiology Clinic across multiple areas, including the Cardiology Clinic, EP/Afib Clinic, and Testing Center. Responsibilities include nursing assessment, problem identification, reporting of complex clinical data to the appropriate EP/Cardiologist, and implementing patient care plans as directed by the provider.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-operative education for Cardiology and EP procedures.
• Educate patients about their cardiovascular condition and treatment options.
• Teach patients self-monitoring techniques and prevention strategies for cardiovascular conditions.
• Triage patients' physical symptoms and consult with cardiologists or electrophysiologists per protocol.
• Participate in Transition of Care Management to ensure discharge medications and instructions are understood by patients and/or family members.
• Review daily lab/test results and manage the electronic health record updates.
• Assist in the development of nursing policies and protocols for patient care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education.

Required Experience

• A minimum of two years of cardiovascular clinic experience and/or hospital nursing experience.
• Two years of critical care or cardiac inpatient unit experience preferred.
• Two years of telemetry monitoring experience preferred.

Certifications / Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse California license.
• Maintains BLS and ACLS certification.
