Casey Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), is seeking a full-time Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Specialist to join our faculty at its main campus in Portland, Oregon. The ideal candidate must be board-certified or board-eligible. Oregon state medical licensures are required.

The Casey Eye Institute is home to a collaborative team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and multiple basic science faculty, and offers comprehensive subspecialty care including: Glaucoma, Cornea, Retina, Oculoplastics, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Ophthalmic Pathology, Oncology, Uveitis & Ocular Immunology, Low Vision Rehabilitation and Ophthalmic Genetics.

The department supports robust training programs including ophthalmology residents and clinical fellows, in addition to internationally recognized research programs in optical coherence tomography (OCT), biomedical informatics, and basic science.

The full-time annual base salary range for this position is $355,624 - $475,948/year; commensurate with experience and rank. Base pay does not include incentive pay, hiring bonuses, or additional benefits such as retirement contributions.

Function/Duties of Position

The duties of this position include: Providing clinical care to Oculofacial Plastics patients of the University Hospital and Clinics and affiliated hospitals and clinics; engaging in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups as approved by Department Chair; providing staffing to residents seeing Oculofacial Plastics patients; teaching residents and house staff about Oculofacial Plastics and issues; performing research relevant to Oculoplastics.

Compliance expectations include: Abiding by all state, federal and institutional compliance regulations and attending compliance training; performing requirements for Staff Members as outlined in Compliance Roles and Responsibilities in OHSU Hospitals and Clinics; and completing specific compliance requirements as outlined by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners. You must carry out responsibilities in an ethical, effective and professional manner, and report potential compliance problems using the reporting processes as outlined in the Code of Conduct. You will be expected to model ethical and appropriate behavior, professional standards, compliance and personal integrity. It is required that you understand and comply with the OHSU Code of Conduct, departmental policies and procedures, and applicable rules and regulations. You will adhere to all Casey Eye Institute Service Excellence standards and expectations and attend all related mandatory training programs. It is expected that you will document in medical records all patient care services delivered in support of third party bills; process billings for hospital and clinic charges in accordance with HCFA, Medicaid, Champus and all commercial and managed care carriers, and assure departmental compliance with all applicable third party payer regulations and contracts.

Required Qualifications

• Must be board certified or eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology
• Completion of an Accredited Ophthalmology Residency Program
• Completion of an Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship
• Eligible for medical licensure in Oregon and Washington
