Salon ManagerPosition OverviewThe NappStar Salon Manager is responsible for the successful daily operation of the salon. This role provides hands-on leadership, oversees all operational functions, and ensures the salon consistently meets NappStars brand, service, and quality standards. The Salon Manager is accountable for hiring and developing top talent, maintaining a positive and professional work environment, managing the salon floor, and driving business performance. This position requires active involvement in daily operations and servicing clients as needed to support the success of the business.Who we are looking for:A Manager with a passion for locs and creating strong teamsWilling to coach team members on NappStar standardsHardworking, goal orientated and be open to learning the NappStar way of things. Physical requirements of this position include: standing / walking for sustained periods of time, lifting up to 10 pounds / continuous repetitive movement with fingers, hands, wrists and arms, and continuous grasping and reaching / Continually required to bend, stoop, and talk Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus. BenefitsHealth Insurance (eligible after 90 days for full time)Retirement Plan (Simple IRA)Paid Time Off, paid Sick Pay and Unpaid Time offCore ResponsibilitiesHire, train, lead, and retain high-performing team members across all rolesCreate, enforce, and model a positive, professional work environmentServe as the leader and final authority for all salon staffLead daily huddles and ensure timely communicationEnforce accountability through coaching, documentation, and corrective actionJob DutiesEnsure all team members consistently follow NappStar service, behavior, and appearance standardsEnforce uniform, hair, and nail standardsSubmit and enforce Incident Reports when standards are not metEnsure stylists only use NappStar-approved products unless client-provided and management-approvedMaintain salon floor standards at all timesOpen and close the salon on timeLead huddles promptlyComplete Incident Reports on the same day as the incident and communicate with team membersRespond to management emails in a timely mannerMake daily or scheduled cash depositsAssign and post closing duties in the breakroomUpload forms, documents, and updates on communication platformsRespond to Google reviews and client feedbackAssist and resolve escalated client issues via phone, email, or social media on the same dayOversee employee supply usage and product removalConduct monthly inventory counts and place ordersPrevent loss and theft of company equipment and productsApprove PTO and unpaid time off requestsPost monthly team schedulesManage coverage when team members call outSubmit bi-weekly payroll Facilitate interviews for all salon positionsOversee onboarding and ensure all Gusto requirements (including I-9) are completedTrain new hires on job responsibilities and expectationsLead skill tests and shadowing for stylists, assistants, and management candidatesLead all training programs for new and assistant team membersDocument and submit Incident Reports and write-upsSchedule and lead team meetingsAssist team members by providing them with hair servicesPerform consultations Support front desk and stylists with complex or difficult client situationsDocument client issues and resolutionsEnsure the salon is staffed adequate for client servicesContact clients directly or direct front desk staff to adjust appointmentsEnsure contract forms are being submitted
