OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE This position provides physical effort to accomplish a variety of manual tasks and skilled light equipment operation. Minimum Qualifications No experience or training is required. Job Specification The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here. Job Duties Operates motorized equipment, including zero turning radius commercial riding lawn mowers, push lawnmowers, line trimmers, other equipment to support operations under the jurisdiction of the Authority. Operates small handheld power equipment such as polesaws, chainsaws, and blowers. Drives crew trucks towing trailers on and between work sites. Assists mechanic with minor repairs to equipment as required, including disassembling and reassembling parts, and lubricating and fueling equipment. Assists in performing scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment as required, including fluid and filter changes, and parts lubrication. Reports to work during emergency events as needed and remains on site until emergency has subsided. Maintains on site preparations in order to be available on call as emergency conditions require.
