Verify test requisitions against nursing station logs and elevate discrepancies Verify patient identity Obtain blood specimens through venipuncture and finger sticks Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic and isolation procedures Track specimens and maintain daily collection tallies Record quality-control results and report needed changes Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment Resolve unusual test orders with physicians, pathologists, nursing stations, or reference laboratories Complete HIPAA/PHI privacy, policy compliance, and security training within the first 30 days Maintain current Natera training requirements Manage and print patient reports Answer and triage billing questions and follow up with patients Schedule courier pickups through FedEx or Medspeed Track each blood draw Requirements Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience High School Diploma or equivalent required Phlebotomy Certificate if required by the state Ability to adhere to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and JCAHO standards Ability to work in an office setting with scrubs required Ability to track each blood draw Must complete HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance, and security training within the first 30 days of hire Must maintain current status on Natera training requirements BS/BA degree preferred Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in phlebotomy techniques, including venipuncture and specimen integrity maintenance, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA/PHI regulations and hospital policies.
