CHARGE NURSE

Position: Charge Nurse (RN) Shift Details AM 7:00 am-7:30 pm NOC 7:00 pm-7:30 am About BHC Alhambra Hospital BHC Alhambra Hospital is located in the beautiful city of Rosemead, California. Our 115‑bed facility, established in 1924, is a private, fully accredited, full‑service acute psychiatric hospital serving children, adolescents and adults. We are dedicated to providing quality behavioral health, substance abuse and eating disorder treatment through inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient options for individuals in the San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles County and surrounding areas. Job Overview The Charge Nurse prescribes, delegates, coordinates and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. Supervisory responsibilities include LVN/LPT and Program Specialist. Responsibilities Complete a comprehensive nursing assessment and patient interview within eight hours of patient’s admission to the unit. Document patient information and nursing care. Document and reassess any significant changes in the patient’s condition in compliance with facility policy. Delegate staff assignments based on patient needs. Make daily patient care assignments based on individual staff’s level of competency. Supervise nursing staff to assure timely completion of patient activities of daily living (ADLs). Requirements Education: Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of three (3) years as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health care facility preferred. License: Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
