You'll work with architects and engineering teams to transform complex technical strategies into secure, scalable, production-ready solutions that deliver business value at scale.This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You'll help teams navigate complexity, guide implementation decisions, solve challenging technical problems, and contribute directly when needed. If you're the person people call when something is complicated, unclear, broken, or stuck, you'll fit right in.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with architects and engineering teams to translate solution designs into practical implementation strategies.Guide teams through technical decisions, implementation challenges, and modernization efforts.Design, develop, and support scalable, secure, and resilient applications, services, and APIs.Review designs, code, and implementation plans to promote quality, reliability, maintainability, and security.Collaborate across engineering, product, architecture, and platform teams to deliver technical solutions.Identify and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, and implementation gaps before they affect delivery.Provide hands-on technical leadership through proof-of-concepts, code reviews, troubleshooting, and implementation support.Support modernization involving cloud-native platforms, APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and enterprise integrations.Promote engineering excellence through testing, automation, observability, resiliency, and operational practices.Mentor engineers and contribute reusable patterns and guidance that improve delivery across teams.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.8 years of software engineering experience building and supporting enterprise applications.5 years of experience with Java and Spring Boot.Experience delivering complex technical solutions across multiple teams or systems.Experience partnering with architects and technical leaders on large-scale initiatives.Strong design, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Preferred SkillsStrong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and modern backend development.Experience with APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.Experience with Kafka or similar messaging technologies.Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-hosted applications, and containerized deployments.Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.Experience with CI/CD pipelines and engineering automation.Knowledge of observability, monitoring, resiliency, security, and operational excellence.Familiarity with OpenAPI, Swagger, and API-first development.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to influence technical direction without formal management authority.Success in This RoleHelp teams successfully implement complex technical solutions.Turn architectural direction into practical, actionable implementation guidance.Identify risks and solve problems before they impact delivery.Improve engineering consistency through shared standards and practices.Strengthen system reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability.Help engineers grow through coaching, mentoring, and technical leadership.Drive modernization that improves delivery speed and long-term platform health.Ideal CandidateYou're an experienced engineer who thrives in complex environments and enjoys helping teams solve difficult problems.You quickly understand systems, evaluate tradeoffs, influence technical decisions, and guide solutions from design through implementation.
