AIC- Estimations Engineer

Learn more at has an immediate need for a full-time Estimation Engineer to work in our Canonsburg PA, office. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Estimation Engineer will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.The ideal candidate will be an expert with costing and know the sizing/selection of industrial equipment/instruments. The candidate will be technically solid with engineering programs and also have experience in wastewater piping.Job Description:Generate and maintain proposal-specific costing data.Obtaining vendor/contractor quotes and working in conjunction with the Application Engineers during the proposal development stageCross-check quotations during the proposal development stage against project specifications and confirm compliance or request revisions from the vendor.Maintain proposal databaseResponsible for developing and maintaining existing quote log files with pre-bid quotes, project quotes, and project PO data for EPC-related items like:Civil worksConcreteMechanical Equipment InstallationPiping InstallationSite Fabricated TanksPipe Racks and Pipe SupportsBuildingMEP Building worksE & I InstallationBOP InstallationDeveloping EPC RFQs and verifying supplier quotations against customer specifications to ensure compliance.Preparing material estimates and labor hour estimates for the installation activitiesDeveloping and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractorsManaging bids from vendors and contractorsUsing bid data to prepare a detailed cost analysisPrepare estimates using estimating software like RS Means & Sage (Formerly Timberline)Presenting prepared estimates to the Project Manager & Management.Compiling and recording actual costs.Other duties as assigned.Skill Requirements:Understanding of water treatment process equipment units as well as rotating equipment, valves, instrumentation, fabricated equipment, etc.In-depth knowledge of various factors which can impact the overall cost of a particular piece of equipment including size, material(s) of construction, certification / approval requirements, inspection & testing requirements, sourcing restrictions, etc.Ability to navigate and interpret customer specifications, identify key items which would have significant cost impact and apply these to equipment selection when necessaryExperience developing equipment RFQs and crosschecking supplier quotations against customer specifications to ensure complianceAbility to identify and take advantage of cost-saving opportunities through design optimization of engineering equipmentExperience in using SAPBenefits:Aquatech offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, company-paid holidays, and a 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).Essential Functions:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
