Legal Bookkeeper

The Role Our Legal Bookkeepers are the beating heart of the organization, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of all our clients. With new clients secured every month, you’ll never have a quiet day as a legal bookkeeper. For this Legal Bookkeeper role, we will be looking for you to have the following: Strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills High attention to detail and confidentiality Ability to work well independently or within a team and meet deadlines A desire to learn quickly and work hard in a fast-paced business 2+ years Legal Bookkeeping experience Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices An understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and ledger-based accounting The following are also desirable: Experience working in a busy law firm environment Experience working with multiple accounting software packages Successful candidates will undertake the following duties: Maintain accurate general ledger and client matter-based accounting. Manage and reconcile Trust IOLTA accounts in compliance with state bar rules. Reconcile bank and credit card statements Record client payments, retainers, and expense reimbursements in line with regulatory requirements. Manage accounts payable and receivable. Month End processes Collaborate closely with attorneys and support staff to ensure timely and compliant financial processes.
