As a Staff Software Engineer reporting directly to our VP of Engineering, you'll operate across the entire product engineering org, going deep where it matters most and setting the technical bar across teams. This isn't a role scoped to a single team or roadmap. You'll parachute into the hardest problems, shape architecture at an org-wide level, and leave things meaningfully better than you found them. We're an AI-native company, and we expect our engineers to bring that same mindset to how they work. If you're energized by using AI to move faster, think bigger, and solve problems in ways that weren't possible a few years ago, you'll fit right in. We're looking for teammates within commutable distance of our NYC or San Francisco offices (or willing to relocate). Team members work in-office Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus one additional flexible day. What You'll Do Drive architecture and technical direction across product engineering, setting standards that scale with the org. Parachute into high-stakes projects and ambiguous problem spaces, providing senior technical leadership where it's needed most. Partner with engineering managers and product leadership to shape roadmap priorities and break down complex problems into executable plans. Raise the craft across the org through design reviews, mentorship, and leading by example. Stay hands-on in production systems, owning outcomes end-to-end rather than handing off at the design stage.
