Phlebotomist

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist II to support our client's healthcare facility in Hays KS 67601 Schedule: Central M-Th 7:30-5 and Friday 7:30-12 Location: Hays, KS 67601 Job Type: local contract Contract Length: 3 months + Contract to Possible Pay Range: $17 to $21/hr *Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education. Job Description: Perform venipuncture and other specimen collections using straight and butterfly needles. Collect, label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures. Verify patient information, physician orders, requisitions, and specimen labels for accuracy. Explain blood draw and specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously to patients. Maintain specimen integrity by following proper storage, temperature, transportation, and handling protocols. Perform equipment maintenance, decontamination, recordkeeping, and patient information updates. Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and complete required annual department training. Answer telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1-3 Year of phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting. Valid state phlebotomy certification where required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
