Physical Therapist

Job Summary Implements high-quality physical therapy services with minimal supervision in accordance with physical therapy principles, practices, and company policies. Develops treatment plans, supervises assistants and aides, contributes to case management, delivers excellent patient care, and builds strong relationships with facilities and staff.

Essential Functions:

• Comply with the State Practice Act and supervision requirements.
• Review and follow company Clinical Operations Policies & Procedures annually.
• Complete all required Medicare compliance and OSHA training.
• Evaluate patients, provide skilled treatment when medically necessary, and document clearly.
• Maintain ongoing documentation of goals, progress, and medical necessity.
• Complete all documentation (pre-certs, reports, daily notes, charges, etc.) accurately and on time.
• Maintain open, respectful communication with staff, physicians, patients, families, and payors.
• Attend facility meetings as directed.
• Complete continuing education and maintain current CPR certification for licensure.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Meet productivity standards by using time efficiently.
• Participate in and present clinical in-services.
• Stay current with healthcare and physical therapy trends.
• Contribute to specific center operations as agreed with the Center Manager.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Strong team player with leadership and coaching skills to supervise assistants/aides.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills.
• Effective clinical problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills for documentation and reporting.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently lift patients using proper techniques; must lift 50 lbs independently.
• Constant walking, bending, standing, and reaching.
• Sufficient vision, hearing, speech, and fine motor skills for patient care, documentation, and equipment handling.
• Ability to push wheeled equipment throughout the facility and community.

Required Credentials:
• Graduation from a physical therapist education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) or, in the case of an internationally educated physical therapist, from a non-CAPTE accredited program seeking licensure as a physical therapist, a substantially equivalent education.
