Allied Technician - Physical Therapist

Physical Therapist (PT)

The Physical Therapist will effectively screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care. This role requires the development of appropriate plans of care that follow all regulatory and clinical practice standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
• Administer various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and wound care.
• Assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly in alignment with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
• Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness, modifying services based on patient evaluations and making referrals as necessary.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical disorders.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
• Provide comprehensive discharge summaries of services provided per regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Document all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain patient records according to company policy.
• Accurately record treatment minutes for services provided per regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Participate in required meetings, including patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings.
• Engage in facility and company-required trainings, in-services, and conferences.
• Ensure the procurement of necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies as per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
• Supervise and support physical therapist assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students as needed.
• Adhere to the standards set by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and state-required practice acts, along with a code of conduct and ethics during professional practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist, with LTC or rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid Missouri State License.
• New graduates are welcome to apply if they have completed a Level II clinical internship experience.
