Data Platform Engineer - Alteryx Platform Owner / Engineer

Job Summary Responsible for Alteryx platform management, platform support and administration. This role focuses on ensuring smooth user experiences, maintaining platform stability, and helping drive adoption of Alteryx across the organization. Location & Shift Onsite, office‑centric (5 days a week). Base location: Truist core location (Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC). First shift (United States). Employment type: Regular. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Platform Management & Administration User & Access Management Workflow Support & Quality Assurance Training & User Enablement – Assist in delivering training sessions, demos, and office hours Develop, maintain, and improve deployment pipelines for the platform. Maintain and ensure operational metadata (logs, performance metrics, etc.) are available for diagnostics. Implement effective technical solutions by providing problem analysis and resolution in a timely manner and explaining and interpreting complex, difficult, or sensitive information. Build non‑functional monitoring capabilities and provide escalated support for highly complex applications in production. Build in and maintain security controls and monitoring in support of company standards. Provide solutions to solve problems of moderate to high complexity and exercise judgment based on the analysis (e.g., modeling, testing, etc.) of multiple sources of information. Lead small data engineering projects with manageable risks and resource requirements; play significant roles in larger, more complex initiatives. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and four to seven years of experience in systems engineering or administration or equivalent education and related training or experience. In-depth knowledge of Linux, Unix, Windows Shell Programming, Python, Git, Networking, Storage Systems, data/BI/ content/ document composition platforms. Previous experience in planning and managing IT projects. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates. Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related degree and eight years of experience or an equivalent combination. Knowledge of specific applications, technology platforms, programming languages, systems, or business segments. Banking or financial services experience. Knowledge of one or more of the following: Solid foundation in engineering Data or BI, platform architecture and design with strong analytical and debugging skills. Professional experience managing resilient platforms or services and scaling at an enterprise level. Proven track record of treating data/analytics platforms as products, with ownership of user experience, adoption, and continuous improvement. Demonstrated experience improving platform usability, developer experience, and adoption across internal users (not limited to operational support). Strong strategic thinking capability with the ability to move beyond reactive support and proactively drive platform enhancements, standards, and roadmap initiatives. Experience with Open Source tools and frameworks. Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience using web servers, application containers, caching technologies. Experience with build tools, such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins. Proven ability to write comprehensive unit and integration tests. Experience with Windows and PowerShell. Knowledge of HashiCorp vaulting solution. Knowledge of MongoDB. Knowledge of SQL Server (potential future state). Demonstrated product mindset with experience treating platforms/tools as products. Experience improving user experience, adoption, or usability of internal platforms. Ability to think strategically beyond operational support.
