Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

This position requires a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a night shift, working 36 hours per week from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. The RN will typically work every third weekend and cover one holiday, although specific scheduling may vary based on patient census and staffing needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to cardiac step-down patients, including those recovering from heart catheterization and open-heart surgery.
• Administer cardiac drips and provide care to other cardiac and medical-surgical step-down patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Be prepared to float to other units during times of low volumes or staff coverage crises as required.
• Occasionally care for ventilated patients based on patient needs and staffing requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in cardiac step-down nursing.
• Proficiency in caring for post-operative open-heart patients.
• Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is required.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is mandatory.
• Comfortable providing care to ventilated patients on rare occasions.

Please note that the facility reserves the right to cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week contract based on operational needs. All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of application. Any adjustments to RTO post-confirmation may not be honored.
