TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified MICU RN in Alexandria, Louisiana, 71301!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of ICU experience License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; TNCC a plus Must-Have: Must be willing to care for COVID-19 patients Positive attitude Flexibility and teamwork Desire for excellence Self-motivated Good communication and people skills Ability to work in a diverse environment Description: The unit consists of 26 beds. The patient ratio is 2:1. Staffing includes RNs and unit support staff. Total care is provided by RNs. Equipment includes ventilators, IV pumps, balloon pumps, and glucometers. All staff utilize mobile technology. PPE includes masks, face shields, goggles, and powered air-purifying respirators for COVID-19 patients. Documentation is conducted using a clinical documentation system. All nursing shifts are 12 hours from 07:00 to 19:00 with every other weekend required. Nursing staff may float to other units as needed, with priority given to ICUs. Hourly rounding and bedside hand-off reporting are standard practices. The facility is certified as a Stroke Center and a Level II Trauma Center. The unit values teamwork, communication, and compassion in patient care. Advanced skills are needed in ventilator management and critical care. Procedures performed include intubations, cardioversions, and management of renal replacement therapy. The unit has received awards for quality measures and excellence in care. Staff includes many nationally certified members with extensive experience. Self-scheduling options are available within certain guidelines. The unit cares for COVID-19 patients, emphasizing the importance of safety and adherence to protocols.
