Care teams are responsible for delivering excellent and compassionate primary care and coordinating the care of our members with the broader healthcare delivery system. The Medical Assistant – Internal Float (MA-Float) is a critical role to flexibly support our members and their families from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave the centers. The MA-Float may be asked to serve in front office or direct patient care activities, depending on center and member needs. This role supports the PCP day-to-day and ensure efficiency in the care provided to patients. MAs work closely and collaboratively with their teammates to greet, schedule, and room ArchWell Health members. S/he will be expected to assist in assessing patient's health conditions, including performing routine diagnostic testing during appointments. The MA-Float may be asked to provide coverage outside of their primary center.Duties/ResponsibilitiesWelcome members upon arrival and help them feel safe and at home, navigating through a seamless and clear check-in processSchedule appointments and coordinate referrals for a multi-disciplinary care teamUpdate member information in the electronic medical records systemRequest medical records and upload documentation to electronic medical records systemConduct intake with patients, measuring and recording vital signs, patient interview, and medical history; perform examinations and routine screenings, ensuring patients are informed and all questions and concerns are addressed for each procedureCritically listen and engage with patients throughout appointment, ensuring needs and/or changing in patient conditions are reported to PCP, specialists, and/or other clinical personnelPerform all tasks with a hyper focus on patient experience, including answering of incoming calls and processing of patient phone messages, including returning calls; routing calls to other team members as appropriate; and calling patients to obtain and relay pertinent information for the physicianChange dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures and other first aid procedures; use CPR skills when necessary, all under physician supervisionEnsure compliance with OSHA safety standards and conduct accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all timesAssist with center events, as neededRequired Skills/AbilitiesMust possess a high degree of emotional intelligence and integrity, driven and focused work ethicSelf-starter with the ability to think creatively and work effectivelyAbility to work effectively with various seniorities and diverse populations including staff, providers, members, family members, insurance carriers, vendors and market leadershipStrong communicator that is customer-orientedExcellent critical reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to analyze situations, determine risks, and find solutions to prevent future issues and resolve recurring defectsExperience with claims/quality reports and analytical software packagesProficient PC Skills, including Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to maintain professionalism and flexibility in a changing work environmentFluency in - languages spoken by our people in the communities we serve (where necessary)Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent education (GED) requiredGraduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR comparable healthcare vocational training (i.e., foreign-trained physician, paramedic, etc.) requiredA minimum of 1 year work experience as a Medical Assistant preferred, but not required6+ months phlebotomy experience is highly desiredBLS for Healthcare Providers requiredEClinicalWorks or similar EMR experienceExperience working with geriatric patients is a plusEmbodies and Serves as a Role Model of ArchWell Health's ValuesBe compassionateStrive for excellenceEarn trustShow respectStay resilientAlways do the right thingArchWell Health is an equal opportunity employer.
