Litigation Associate – Complex Litigation

Direct Counsel represents an AmLaw 100 firm seeking a talented Litigation Associate with 4–6 years of post-JD experience to join its sophisticated litigation practice. Positions are available in Boston, Denver, New York, Palo Alto, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or Washington, DC .

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator to handle complex matters, work alongside sophisticated litigation teams, and take on significant responsibility in high-stakes disputes.

Responsibilities

• Draft sophisticated briefs and motions for district and appellate courts.
• Manage large-scale and complex discovery , including substantial document productions and litigation teams.
• Take and defend depositions and handle motion practice.
• Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings.
• Participate in negotiations, meet-and-confers, and communications with opposing counsel.
• Develop case strategy and contribute to complex litigation matters.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of post-JD litigation experience ; prior law firm experience preferred.
• Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical skills , including experience drafting briefs for district and appellate courts.
• Experience managing significant discovery processes, including large document productions and discovery teams .
• Strong deposition and motion practice experience.
• State court litigation experience required.
• Excellent strategic thinking and judgment.
• Strong work ethic and ability to manage complex matters effectively.
• Experience working collaboratively with large litigation teams.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar admission and membership in good standing in the jurisdiction where the attorney will be based.
• Ability to contribute positively to a collaborative, high-performing environment.
