Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Dover, Delaware

An opportunity is available for a professional skilled in educating Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. This contract position is based in Dover, DE, offering an engaging environment to support learners with specialized needs.

Responsibilities include:

Developing and implementing individualized education plans tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
Collaborating with classroom teachers, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and families to foster inclusive learning experiences
Utilizing appropriate communication methods and assistive technologies to enhance student learning
Monitoring students' academic progress and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly
Participating in professional development and continuing education to stay current with best practices

Desired qualifications and experience:

Certification or licensure in Teaching Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing or related field
Proven experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Knowledge of diverse communication modalities, including sign language and auditory/verbal techniques
Commitment to student advocacy and fostering independent learning
