Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a night-shift Advanced Care/EMU unit position requiring IL RN licensure and at least three years of relevant nursing experience.

Details

Work in the Advanced Care/EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit) of a hospital setting
Monitors EMU patients 24/7 for seizure activity
Works alongside the critical care team and hospitalists for Advanced Care patients
Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 days per week (36 hours)
No on-call responsibilities
No floating required
5 weekend shifts required within a 6-week scheduling period
Every other holiday coverage required
Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

Active Illinois RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted)
Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
ASN required, BSN preferred
Epic charting experience required
Level 1 Trauma experience required

Additional Information

Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Maintain accurate documentation for continuity of care across the healthcare team
Utilize hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and whiteboards to enhance patient and family communication
Identify and report safety hazards and incidents
Support professional development of peers and maintain departmental competencies
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
RTO may not exceed 7 total days within a 13-week contract
Contingent workers may not remain on assignment for more than 1 year at this health system without either converting to permanent staff or taking a 6-month break in service
