Shift Information

Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:30 AM - 02:30 PM)

Job Description

This position requires the planning and implementation of Occupational Therapy programs for patients and participation in department programs. The therapist will perform a variety of duties including:

• Working with patients diagnosed with CVA, trauma, orthopedic conditions, medical surgical needs, neurological issues, and in ambulatory care settings.
• Utilizing skills in adult rehabilitation, acute care, and adaptive equipment usage.
• Assessing patient needs and developing individualized plans of care.
• Providing patient and family education and pre-discharge planning.
• Ensuring safety and injury prevention measures are followed.
• Maintaining excellent communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS, NBCOT.
• State License: Valid California State License required.
• Preferred previous charge experience in a healthcare setting.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in relevant fields.
• Experience with patient care charting systems (Epic required).
• Experience working with adults and geriatric populations.
• Travel experience is required.

Skills Required

• Knowledge and experience with above and below knees prosthetics.
• Skills in managing amputee rehabilitation, arthritis, and soft tissue injuries.
• Ability to assess and manage patients with dementia/Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological disorders.
• Proficient in handling hand injuries, hip fractures, total hip replacements, knee injuries, and total knee replacements.
• Experience in cognitive assessments and coma management.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and families.
