Nurse Aide in Training

Facility: Autumnwood of McBain The Nursing Assistant in Training provides supervised resident care in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulatory standards. This role serves as a preparatory step toward certification as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensures a safe and comfortable environment, and supports licensed nursing staff in delivering individualized care in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility policies. Measure and record vital signs, weight, percentage of meal consumed intake/output as directed. Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and position using proper body mechanics and lift equipment as applicable. Respond promptly to call lights, resident needs, and changes in condition; report observations to licensed nursing staff. Support residents’ independence and dignity, while ensuring safety and comfort. Maintain accurate and timely documentation and in accordance with facility procedures. Maintains a clean, safe and comfortable environment. Provides postmortem care. Make routine rounds on each assigned resident every two hours. Contributes to the residents’ assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the plan of care. Provides nursing rehabilitation/restorative nursing services Education and/or Experience: High School Graduate/GED Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have graduated from a state approved nursing assistant training program and must pass a state approved competency examination (written and skills) within 120 days of employment; name entered into state nurse aide registry.
