Location This branch is a Retail In-Store branch located in Walmart, Meijer, and Kroger stores. 2777 Airport Rd Jackson, MI 49202 Branch Hours Monday - Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Sunday: Closed. Job Description A Retail In-Store Assistant Branch Manager at Michigan First Credit Union is an energetic, charismatic, friendly, and problem‑solving leader who builds strong relationships with members. This role combines five‑star service delivery with team building, member engagement, and branch operations. We are a family‑focused credit union that values outstanding teamwork and personalized member solutions. What You’ll Do Serve as a motivational leader and share expertise in lending, investments, and other banking products and services with members, potential members, and the team. Provide stellar service to Credit Union members and lead “needs‑based” selling. Act as a face for the brand—happy, confident, positive, and enthusiastically engaging with others. Manage scheduling, assign duties, and prioritize tasks following Credit Union policies and procedures as directed by the Branch Manager. Teach and inspire teammates, setting the tone for branch success with excellent interpersonal skills. Engage in‑store customers to evaluate financial needs and position Credit Union services. Research and recommend new or expanded products and services, planning sales programs to address emerging needs. Develop plans that improve efficiency for employees and operations. Support the Branch Manager with overall direction, coordination, and evaluation in the manager’s absence. Oversee reporting and analysis of all transactions, goals, and activities; prepare reports for headquarters and regulatory agencies. Create joint promotional opportunities with the retailer. Lead team members in conducting promotions and supporting product and service promotion. Uphold the branch’s positive image, ensuring safety, privacy, and a pleasant environment for members. Qualifications Education: Associate’s degree or two years of equivalent leadership experience in a bank or credit union. Financial institution background with thorough knowledge of lending processes and products. Outgoing and personable with a passion for engaging strangers in conversation about services. Critical thinking and creative problem‑identification skills. Experience evaluating and coaching team members in sales and service, with a track record of improvement. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and early evenings; two Saturdays per month are required, with Sundays off. Excellent communication skills, both in‑person and via email. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to multitask and remain calm and collected under pressure. Willingness to assist at any in‑store location to meet business needs.
