Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - PACU - Post Anesthetic Care

• Obtain and record initial assessments; establish priorities for patient care
• Re-assess patients to identify progress and trends needing intervention
• Develop and implement individualized care plans within the Nursing Standards of Care
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on facts and patient outcomes
• Participate in patient and significant other health education and discharge planning
• Implement and document timely interventions; evaluate the plan of care
• Perform Point of Care testing procedures

Requirements of the Registered Nurse - PACU - Post Anesthetic Care

• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing
• Current New Mexico RN license or Compact state license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications via AHA required
• Experience relevant to the clinical area; knowledge of patient populations served
