Plant Superintendent

Plant SuperintendentReporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for scheduling and overseeing the daily operations of the plant in order to meet customer delivery expectations while ensuring safety, product quality, and efficiency of process within the plant.Job Responsibilities and Tasks:Manages, directs, and controls activities for all manufacturing personnelSchedules all production activitiesCommunicates the schedule and current lead times to customer service personnelPrimary contact regarding hiring of all direct labor employees and maintaining the cross-training matrix for those employeesWorks with all area managers to ensure direct labor employees are properly evaluatedDirects employees to achieve the best product delivery and qualityResponsible for overall quality and cost performance for every rollOversees assigned capital projectsVisits any customer site as required by the customer or Sales groupEnsures the SPI and industry standards are met for all rollsTravels to other Andritz facilities and interfaces with said Plants to facilitate Plant efficiency as necessaryResponsible for reporting issues or concerns to the Plant ManagerLeads continuous improvement efforts including LEAN, RCFA, RCM, ISO, etc.Performs other duties as assigned by the Plant ManagerQualification Requirements:Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalentExperience: 8-10 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a paper industry or related settingProven supervisory and leadership abilities, excellent communication, and interpersonal skillsRequires computer skills with strong skills in WORD, EXCELMulti-tasking capability in a high-pressure environment is a fundamental requirementRequires occasional travelOutstanding written and oral communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsHigh attention to detailAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.
