Compliance Officer

A Lending Compliance Officer role is available with the client. The position ensures the bank operates in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance programs, performing risk assessments, and advising business units, with the work performed in a hands-on capacity across functional areas within the bank. Key responsibilities include assisting with administration and maintenance of the Bank’s Compliance Management Program to support compliance with consumer protection laws and state and federal regulations. The role also involves supervising compliance professionals, including managing and training staff, performing quality control, overseeing work output, and supporting coaching and performance management. The officer will conduct targeted compliance reviews, control enhancement projects, and risk mitigation initiatives, establish coverage for related activities, evaluate significance, and assess inherent risk. Additional duties include serving as a subject matter expert for lending-focused regulations and supporting regulatory change management in partnership with business units. The officer will develop and update risk assessments, monitor and evaluate consumer complaints to identify trends and root causes, and conduct gap analysis for business units. This role includes interpreting regulatory and legislative changes, reviewing regulatory risks for new initiatives and products, preparing reports for management and oversight bodies, advising on remediation options, collaborating with the first line of defense on monitoring activities, and overseeing staff training and reviews of marketing materials, forms, and disclosures for regulatory compliance.
