Main Duties & Responsibilities

Job Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer has responsibility of day-to-day engineering duties on the plant floor to support production of high-pressure gas cylinders.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Support and lead cost savings efforts, identifying new practices and procedures that will increase throughput, reduce manufacturing costs, and improve repeatable quality.
• Utilize Lean manufacturing methodology to drive process improvements.
• Recommend, justify, and implement process improvements and equipment projects that improve productivity, process repeatability/reliability and safety.
• Work to resolve daily production/quality issues driving to root cause and resolution.
• Position reports to Operations Manager. This role will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and production associates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required, Manufacturing or Mechanical preferred
• Solidworks and/or AutoCAD
• 3-5 years of experience working as a Manufacturing/Process Engineer, with steel manufacturing or heavy industrial experience a plus
• Lean manufacturing concepts, including Kaizen improvement process
• Capital project management skills a plus.
• Must be comfortable working on the floor 50% of the time

This position requires the physical ability to be mobile in an office and a heavy industrial environment, to finger and grasp materials, to speak effectively, and to listen with intent.
