Role Summary We are seeking an experienced and strategic Sr. Manager of Global Benefits who will play a critical role in taking Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies (RV Tech) programs and operations to the next level. This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of People at RV Tech and will be located out of our Palo Alto, CA office at least three days per week. The successful candidate will manage day‑to‑day operational benefits programs, including vendor management, and collaborate closely with internal partners such as Compensation, Equity, Global Mobility, HR Business Partners, Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, and Legal. Responsibilities Provide direct oversight of all benefits programs, vendor partnerships, policies, and processes, and identify opportunities to optimize and evolve RV Tech’s benefit programs. Ensure compliance for all benefit programs, including enrollment systems, medical/pharmacy, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, family programs, 401(k), spending and saving accounts, and wellness plans. Oversee benefit communication campaigns (e.g., open enrollment) and serve as the primary contact for employees consulting on benefit issues. Collaborate with benefit consultants and plan provider leadership teams to ensure seamless administration and strategic program oversight, and conduct research and analysis to recommend new benefit programs. Support the vision, analysis, research, communication, and administration of strategic benefit programs aligned with the company’s growth strategy and talent goals. Manage and configure the systems and technology that support benefit plans and eligibility, working closely with Payroll, HRIS (Workday), and HR Shared Services. Collaborate with Finance on budgeting and financial analysis of benefit programs, monitoring high‑cost claims and ensuring accurate budget planning. Manage existing disease management and wellbeing programs, analyze effectiveness, and recommend new initiatives. Ensure all benefit programs comply with governmental regulations and labor laws, including ERISA, FMLA, ACA, HIPAA, and CAA, and oversee required testing, audits, reporting, and SOX compliance. Qualifications 10+ years of experience with at least 5+ years of US Benefits Management/Leadership experience, ideally in a high‑growth, scaling technology environment. Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives concurrently. Deep understanding of US benefit programs and ERISA. Demonstrated ability to drive operational optimization, program and process improvements, and continually simplify processes to enhance the employee experience. Strong problem‑solving skills, cross‑organizational leadership, relationship building across organization boundaries, commitment to quality and continuous improvement, and strong analytical focus. Ability to exercise sound business judgment when collaborating with stakeholders. Proven record of executing processes accurately and on time. Innovative and creative approach to problem solving. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively across all organizational levels and focusing on program education and promotion. Systems experience with Workday and G‑suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, G‑Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.). Total Rewards Full‑time positions include base salary, eligibility for an annual performance bonus, and eligibility for equity. Benefits are tailored to the local market.
