Technical Writer

Technical WriterPeraton is seeking a Technical Writer to provide enterprise-focused engineering support to a government customer. The Technical Writer will be responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.They will write and edit technical documentation for all the project's hardware and software to include installation, configuration and how-to documentation. They will create code documentation for software; produce implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities; provide field, data definition, and data flow documentation and format technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other available resources.QualificationsIndividual Capabilities/Experience Required:Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university and six (6) years of experience as a Technical Writer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.Four (4) years of additional TW experience (at least 10 total years) may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.Experience documenting systems, and systems of systems in accordance with systems engineering standards and practices.Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:Knowledge of customer documentation standards and practices.Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Peraton offers enhanced benefits to employees working on this critical National Security program, which include heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap and eligible to participate in an attractive bonus plan.Peraton OverviewPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
