Revvity Omics, a division of Revvity, is a clinical molecular and biochemical laboratory offering a variety of different screening and diagnostic testing options. From prenatal screening before birth to newborn screening shortly after birth and whole genome sequencing through one’s lifetime. Our goal is to provide valuable and insightful information about potential underlying genetic conditions, guiding patients and providers to improved health outcomes. We are seeking a Clinical Lab Technologist at our Pittsburgh state-of-the-art omics laboratory to perform clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses that contribute to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The shift is Tuesday - Saturday from 8:30 AM - 5 PM. Role & Responsibilities:- Prepares specimens for analysis and organizes tests to be performed.
- Performs clinical testing according to standard operating procedures, related
- Prepares and properly labels reagents required for laboratory testing.
- Performs general laboratory duties such as glassware cleaning, reagent
- Maintains legible work records.
- Maintains records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are
- Pays careful attention to detail during all laboratory tasks.
- Follows instructions from Supervisors, and all Leadership.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Performs all job duties in a manner consistent with, laboratory, CLIA, CAP
- Maintains good communication with leadership, team members and customers.
- Follows safety, security, and the environment in all aspect of the daily
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor’s Degree in a life or physical science such as chemistry, biology, molecular biology or medical technology and lab experience (undergraduate experience or professional).WORKING CONDITIONS:
* Clinical and research lab environment; exposure to blood borne pathogens; must wear protective lab gear including lab coat, gloves and completely closed footwear. * Employee may be requested to work other shifts other than daylight depending on the needs of the laboratory.- Weekend rotation may be required.
- Travel is not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use a keyboard, type, and occasionally stand and move to other parts of the lab.- Must have manual dexterity to use lab equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
