This is a remote position primarily focused on school-based mental health services, offering a supportive and inclusive work culture. As a mental health counselor at Randolph Behavioral Center, you will have the flexibility to work from home while engaging with students and parents through virtual mediums. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with educators, school administrators, and other mental health professionals to create a comprehensive support system for students.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify the mental health needs of students, formulating tailored treatment plans that promote emotional and psychological development.

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy employing evidence-based techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices, to address a wide array of mental health concerns.

  • Work closely with case managers and school counselors, coordinating care plans and recommending additional resources or interventions as necessary to ensure holistic student support.
  • \n
  • Respond to crisis situations effectively, providing immediate support and intervention for students experiencing acute emotional distress or behavioral issues.

  • Engage in community outreach initiatives, promoting mental health education and awareness within schools while working to destigmatize mental health issues among students and their families.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary clientele for this position includes students from diverse backgrounds within local schools. Your role will be central in addressing the mental health challenges faced by children and adolescents, including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and trauma-related concerns. By serving this population, you will help to enhance students' academic performance and overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

  • Must possess an independent and active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • \n
  • A master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology is required.
  • \n
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential for establishing rapport with students, parents, and school staff.

  • Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to work effectively with individuals from varied ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

  • Proven organization and time management skills, including proficiency in documentation and navigating technology-based reporting systems.

Preferred Experience\n

  • Previous experience working within school settings or with adolescents is highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with remote counseling technologies and methods, including teletherapy best practices.

Compensation and Benefits\n
