The role provides immigration counseling and advocacy for clients. Note: This position requires demonstrated fluency (written & spoken) in English and Spanish. Serve as a representative of the immigration program and agency within the community and relevant organizations. Counsel clients with their immigration needs and serve as their legal representative. Complete family‑based immigration applications such as Adjustment of Status, Naturalization, and Family Reunification. Provide translation/interpretation in Dari and Pashto as appropriate. Maintain an ongoing, organized client caseload. Maintain accurate files and detailed case notes. Complete continuing education to maintain current knowledge of immigration policy and practice, and maintain DOJ accreditation. Model and encourage direct, professional communication among staff members and facilitate the development of a positive staff support network. Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of client services as it relates to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the populations served. How You Will Be a Great Fit 1 year of related experience, specifically with immigration and the Department of Justice High school diploma or equivalent Credentials: DOJ accreditation may be required depending on individual program or location requirements. Demonstrated fluency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written Intermediate mastery of business applications and productivity suites Demonstrates resilience, awareness, and self‑regulation in navigating challenges, conflict and obstacles/barriers. Thrives in a diverse and multicultural environment; works with cross‑functional teams to develop and implement strategies to enhance end‑user experiences throughout the service lifecycle.
