Connect Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector for a heavy industrial manufacturing operation in Houston, TX.

DIMENSIONAL INSPECTION EXPERIENCE IS HIGHLY IMPORTANT

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience performing dimensional inspections of machined, forged, or manufactured metal components .

Candidates with experience in a machine shop, forging operation, steel manufacturing, machining, or other heavy industrial manufacturing environment are strongly encouraged to apply.

This is a hands-on, production-floor Quality Inspector position — not an office-only QC role.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing visual and dimensional inspections on raw materials, forgings, machined components, in-process products, and finished products to verify compliance with engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances, specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards.

The current need is primarily within the Machine Shop , although candidates with strong Forge Shop / Hot Forging inspection experience may also be considered for an additional Quality Inspector opening.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform detailed dimensional and visual inspections
• Inspect machined components, forgings, raw materials, and finished products
• Perform Receiving, In-Process, Final, and First-Article Inspections
• Verify dimensions against engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and tolerances
• Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment
• Identify dimensional discrepancies, defects, and non-conforming material
• Document inspection results accurately on work orders and inspection reports
• Create and process NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) as required
• Communicate quality concerns with production and manufacturing personnel
• Assist with identifying corrective actions for recurring quality issues
• Maintain inspection equipment and calibration records
• Follow Quality Management System requirements, safety procedures, and PPE standards

REQUIRED / HIGHLY DESIRED EXPERIENCE

Candidates should have:

• 2+ years of hands-on Quality Inspection experience preferred
• Strong dimensional inspection experience
• Experience inspecting machined or manufactured metal components
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications
• Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments
• Understanding of GD&T is a plus
• Experience performing in-process and final inspections
• Experience identifying and documenting non-conforming material
• Machine shop inspection experience strongly preferred
• Forging / hot forge inspection experience is highly desirable
• Experience in machining, forging, steel, oil & gas manufacturing, or heavy industrial manufacturing is a strong plus
• Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills

PRECISION MEASURING TOOLS

Candidates with hands-on experience using the following are especially encouraged to apply:

• Micrometers
• Calipers
• Pi Tape / Diameter Tape
• Height gauges and other dimensional measuring equipment
• Additional precision inspection instruments used to verify dimensions and tolerances

HEAVY INDUSTRIAL WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works directly on the manufacturing floor in a heavy industrial machining and/or forging environment .

Candidates must be comfortable:

• Working in high-temperature conditions
• Working around forging and heavy manufacturing operations
• Working around large metal components and industrial machinery
• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Bending, squatting, and moving throughout the production floor
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Wearing required PPE
• Following strict quality and safety procedures

This is NOT a light-duty QC, laboratory, warehouse-only, or office inspection position.
