Controls Engineer

job summary:
Controls Engineer for an immediate direct hire role south of Charlotte, NC. This key position will be responsible for the leading of system process controls ensuring plant efficiency to its maximum capacity. This person will provide day to day support to the production teams minimizing production downtime.

The right person for this role will be a proven team player and passionate about driving technology and process. This hands on engineer will have 8+years experience in process control and automation with Rockwell Allen-Bradley hardware. This person will also bring a balanced engineering background from control systems development to managing legacy systems, ideally with Wonderware platforms experience, (but not a Must). Proven knowledge of PLC program with ladder logic

programming and troubleshooting.

responsibilities:

• Lead system process controls ensuring plant efficiency to its maximum capacity.

• Design, program, update, test and troubleshoot plant automation and control systems related to manufacturing lines.

• Provide day to day support to the production teams to minimize any downtime.

• Program PLC system settings and act as primary POC for PLC control issues and upgrades

• Design, implement, and support DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA software for control systems and equipment

• Participate on project teams in the development of control/instrumentation system specifications and support factory acceptance testing of new equipment systems.

• Install software updates with the latest versions.

• Support Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

• Provide hardware and software application support assistance to maintenance and production.

• Work with others in the Engineering dept. to maintain the plant's process networks.

• Update, modify, and continuously improve existing controls systems including ladder logic programs, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, operator interface, hydraulics, and pneumatics distribution and control

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field along with min 8 years of experience in process control and automation in a similar role

• A balanced engineering background from control systems development to managing legacy systems.

• Experienced in Rockwell/AB hardware is a must.

• Experienced in Wonderware platforms is a plus but not mandatory.

• Experience in power / NFPA70E would also be a plus.

• Must possess a positive team attitude with a desire to grow and develop a solid team environment
