ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, Hangar Large Application Door, (HLAD) Industrial Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of systems that control large scale door systems. This role is crucial for ensuring that the door systems run smoothly, efficiently, and safely by optimizing system performance and integrating advanced technological solutions. The ideal candidate is not only technically adept but also innovative, with a keen eye for detail and a knack for problem-solving. They should possess a comprehensive understanding of control systems, including PLCs, HMI technologies, and other control hardware and be capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to bring projects to fruition. In this position, you will be tasked with developing control schemes, conducting system testing and validation, troubleshooting and resolving system issues, and continuously improving existing processes. We value professionals who are adaptable, continuously seek improvement, and are ready to embrace the rapid technological advancements in automation and control technologies.Controls Engineer Responsibilities & Duties:Design and develop control systems for large scale door systemsConduct system testing and validation proceduresCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirementsTroubleshoot and optimize existing control systemsPrepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and operation manualsEnsure compliance with UL, other industry standards and safety regulationsMonitor system performance and make necessary adjustmentsTrain personnel on the use and operation of control systemsPerform regular system maintenance and updatesIntegrate new technologies into existing systemsParticipate in the commissioning and start-up of new equipmentProvide technical support and expertise to other departments as neededAnalyze data from control systems to improve processes and efficiencyControls Engineer Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (experience in lieu of degree will be considered)Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.Proven experience in controls engineering or a similar roleExperience with PLC programming and troubleshootingKnowledge of HMI systemsExcellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsFamiliarity with industrial networking protocols and standardsAbility to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematicsPrevious experience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentStrong project management skillsAble to work independently and as part of a teamProficiency in using CAD software for control system designExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsHands-on experience with automation and/or roboticsKnowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliancePhysical ability to inspect and monitor equipment on-site when requiredBenefits: Include competitive wages, Medical/Dental/Vision, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays from day one, tuition reimbursement, and a 401k plan (with an automatic 3% company contribution, regardless of your contribution) among others.We are the ASSA ABLOY Group.
