Ad-Drill Operator

We need a knowledgeable and skilled Operator to join our team. Whether you have some experience in the construction industry, or none at all, this could be the position for you. This is a hands‑on position in the directional drilling industry that includes working outside in the elements. If you dislike being stuck at a desk with the same scenery, then this is the position for you! CDL is preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Locating and spotting for utilities Clean up worksites from hazardous or obsolete material Assist crew members on‑site Handle and transport materials and equipment Use power tools and machinery when needed Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks (e.g. digging, stacking up goods) Put up warning signs (e.g. signposts, cones) for vehicles and passersby Help with setting up and transferring temporary structures Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions Ensuring all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety regulations. Cleaning, lubricating, and performing regular safety checks on equipment. Ensuring equipment is properly positioned before turning it on and off, or loading and unloading it. Training new crew members in the safe operation of equipment. Performing other construction duties as needed. Observing the safe distribution of concrete and other materials. Promptly reporting all faults to the Supervisor or Foreman. Ensuring sites are kept clean and safe. Attending meetings and refresher courses to ensure responsible equipment operation. Operations mini excavator and/or directional drill. General Qualifications 1-3 years of education and/or experience Excellent oral communications and written skill Experience leading a crew of 2-4 people Experience in the telecom industry or similar utility industry Strong work ethic Must have valid drivers license and ability to meet our insurance providers qualifications Basic Math Skills Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.) Good hand-eye coordination Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus Communication and teamwork skills Commitment to safety rules Apprenticeship or specialization is an asset, but not necessary If you really want to own your job and learn a ton about the underground utility industry at the same time, this is the opportunity for you.
