Terminal Operator

Position Details:

• Starting Pay: $25/hour (depending on experience) through a staffing agency
• Path to GCC employee: After a successful three-to-six-month probationary period, based on performance, punctuality, and attendance, candidates may be eligible for direct employment with GCC.
• Direct Hire Pay Range: $26 to $31 an hour.

What you will do:

This role works in a cement distribution terminal loading and unloading cement from railcars and trucks to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery to customers. Responsibilities include operating and positioning terminal equipment; monitoring material flow, pressures, and inventory; collecting samples; completing and processing all required paperwork using computer systems; and coordinating with railroads, drivers, customers, sales, and vendors. The role also performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of terminal machinery and equipment-including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and welding tasks-operates mobile equipment such as forklifts and track mobiles, supports housekeeping and grounds maintenance, maintains a safe work environment, and promotes quality, continuous improvement, and best practices. Occasional travel to support other terminals may be required.

Experience and abilities you will need:

• 1-year certificate from college or technical
• 3 - 6 years related experience and/or training in the distribution of products and customer relations
• Knowledge of cement and ready-mix operations.
• Track Mobile Training / Safety Training / OSHA Requirements
• Mechanical ability

Work Hours:

There are two shifts, 2:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, you must be able to work either shift.
