Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility in Pembroke Pines, Florida, which features modern amenities designed to promote efficiency and enhance patient care. As part of an integrated healthcare system, you will work in an interdisciplinary setting, collaborating with referring physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients with cardiovascular conditions. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations by performing comprehensive physical examinations and reviewing medical histories to develop informed treatment plans.

• Order, analyze, and interpret diagnostic tests, such as EKGs, echocardiograms, and laboratory tests, to assist in the assessing patients' heart health and overall medical needs.

• Prescribe and manage medication therapy, ensuring the safety and efficacy of treatments while educating patients about potential side effects and drug interactions.

• Collaboratively develop individualized treatment plans that are evidence-based, aligning with established medical standards and professional practice guidelines.

• Provide counseling and education to patients and their families regarding heart health management, dietary recommendations, and promoting healthy lifestyle changes.

• Maintain meticulous records of patient care, treatment plans, and progress while collaborating with other healthcare professionals for timely referrals and consultations when necessary.

• Manage patient cases in various healthcare settings, be it outpatient or inpatient care, ensuring continuity of care as patients move through various stages of their treatment.

• Engage in procedural tasks as required, appropriately performing invasive procedures within the scope of practice as delegated by supervising physicians.

• Adhere to professional development and department coverage needs by being available for additional patient care duties if required.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Cardiology Physician Assistant, you will primarily focus on patients with cardiovascular diseases, including but not limited to heart failure, hypertension, and coronary artery disease. You will work closely with diverse populations that reflect the demographics of Pembroke Pines, ensuring equitable and accessible cardiovascular care to all patients.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant studies or an equivalent clinically focused program.

• A minimum of one year of clinical experience, ideally in a cardiology or related field.

• Current certification and licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Florida.

• Proven ability to work effectively as a team player within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitating clear and effective patient interactions.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience specifically in cardiology or a closely related specialty.

• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, enhancing workflow efficiency and patient data management.

• A strong foundation in evidence-based medicine and familiarity with established cardiology clinical guidelines.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
