Groundsperson - Lilesville, NC

Pay or shift range: $16 to $18 USD Travel Required Yes. Description Always follow and help enforce safe practice and rules. Work from the ground to keep the work area clear of debris using handsaws, pole saws, pruners, loppers, and gasoline-powered equipment to cut brush and trees. Define staging areas. Set up and break down material, tools, and equipment as required. Prepare and feed brush into a woodchipper. Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris. Operate various trucks and equipment as assigned. Perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment; keep them neat and orderly, and report the need for major repairs. Tie knots, rope breaks, and speed lines according to industry standards. Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area. Flag traffic to protect employees and the public from potential harm or injury. Be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies. This is a full‑time position. Specific hours will be assigned by the supervisor and the Groundsperson may be required to work overtime and/or weekends. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred. Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred. Position requires the employee to be able to pass a background check and drug screen as required for this job.
