By delivering comprehensive land planning, urban development, landscape architecture, civil engineering, and environmental stewardship, DEA is consistently helping our clients deliver award winning projects that set new industry standards and enhance our communities.The Land Development Business Unit is seeking a Civil Engineer inone of our Washington offices in Bellevue, Everett, Woodinville or Tacoma, WA.The Professional Civil Engineer’s role is to carry out individual tasks delegated to them by the Project Manager. The Professional Civil Engineer plans and conducts work requiring judgment regarding the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Successful candidates should possess expertise in land development design, grading, drainage, water quality, streets, sewers, storm drain and utilities.What You’ll DoKey Responsibilities:Apply civil engineering principles to assigned projects while functioning as a team leader or working independentlyDevelop design plans and lead specification production for a broad range of projects, including site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and related civil engineering activitiesLead the preparation of water quality reports and drainage studies, including associated hydraulic and hydrologic calculationsPrepare engineering calculations, specifications, proposals, and permitting applicationsSchedule projects by establishing and modifying critical paths, develop and review cost estimates, and coordinate with clientsExecute complex assignments using sound judgment in the evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and proceduresDevelop innovative solutions to technical challenges encountered during project deliveryInterface with clients and public agencies to support project coordination and approvalsSupervise project staff as needed and provide mentorship to junior team membersWhat You BringRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Civil EngineeringMinimum of 10 years of relevant design experience in land development projects, including commercial, residential, public works, institutional, or industrial developmentsDemonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD or Civil 3D and the Microsoft Office SuiteProfessional Engineer LicenseExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Professional Engineer License in the state of WashingtonLEED AP CertificationWhat We OfferWe foster an environment where talented professionals have the freedom and support to do their most meaningful work.
