Data Center Cleaning Operations

Howard Smith Janitorial is actively hiring a strong, dependable Night Shift Project Manager to lead cleaning operations at an active data center construction site located in Colorado City / Barber Lake, TX.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can take ownership of operations, manage large crews, enforce safety standards, and ensure nightly production goals are met.

We are looking for a leader — not just a supervisor.

  Schedule

• Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Sunday–Friday or Monday–Friday
• 8–12 hour shifts
• Full-time, consistent hours

  Position Overview

The Project Manager oversees all nightly cleaning operations, workforce coordination, safety compliance, and client communication on-site. This role serves as the operational link between company leadership, field crews, and construction management.

You will manage labor performance, maintain quality standards, and ensure projects run safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

  Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

• Lead nightly cleaning operations on an active construction/data center site
• Manage crews of 20–30+ employees
• Assign daily work areas and monitor productivity
• Ensure all work meets contract scope and inspection standards
• Coordinate directly with site Superintendent and leadership teams
• Adjust staffing based on workload and call-offs

Team Leadership

• Ensure employees arrive on time and prepared for work
• Train and coach team members on procedures and safety
• Enforce company policies and performance expectations
• Maintain strong crew accountability and morale
• Support hiring, onboarding, and retraining when required

Cleaning & Equipment Oversight

• Supervise use of:
• • Floor scrubbers & sweepers
  • Scissor lifts
  • High dusting equipment
  • Industrial cleaning tools
• Ensure equipment is operated safely and properly
• Maintain minimum clearance and safety standards
• Prevent equipment damage through training enforcement

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce PPE and OSHA safety standards
• Conduct safety checks and corrective actions
• Maintain incident documentation when required
• Ensure safe work practices in sensitive data center environments

Inventory & Site Management

• Track and manage supplies, chemicals, and consumables
• Ensure rags/materials are cleaned and restocked daily
• Monitor equipment condition and coordinate repairs
• Maintain organized staging and work areas

Reporting & Communication

• Complete nightly operational reports
• Track labor hours and crew productivity
• Communicate updates, issues, and progress to company leadership
• Represent Howard Smith Janitorial professionally on-site

✅   Minimum Requirements

• 2+ years experience in:
• • Industrial cleaning
  • Construction cleanup
  • Janitorial operations leadership
• Experience managing 15+ employees
• Comfortable working overnight shifts
• Experience operating or supervising:
  
• • Scissor lifts
  • Forklifts (preferred)
  • Floor scrubbers
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Reliable transportation

⭐   Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
• Data center or large construction project experience
• Multi-site or high-production environment experience
• Ability to manage labor budgets and productivity targets
