Tax Director

Owning the tax function, the full-time remote Senior Tax Director will manage complex tax positions across various fund structures, collaborate with finance leadership, and ensure compliance while developing a small in-house team and overseeing external partnerships. Key responsibilities Own and document technical tax positions for REITs and RICs, managing associated risks Design and oversee the delivery model for in-house and external tax work, including vendor management Ensure compliance with federal and state tax filings and investor tax reporting processes Required qualifications 10+ years of tax experience with a strong focus on REIT taxation Experience defending tax positions to auditors and regulators, with strong documentation skills Direct experience managing relationships with outside advisors and fund administrators Proven ability to drive outcomes across multiple teams without direct authority CPA, JD/LLM, or equivalent designation preferred; Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field Virtual Vocations Inc
