Job Title: Welder Job Description

This role involves performing basic MIG welding and fabrication work in a metal construction fabrication environment, following blueprints and customer specifications to produce high-quality parts. You will work closely with production supervisors to meet daily and weekly production goals while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality standards.

• Perform daily MIG welding on steel and metal components, with 3/8-inch material being the most common thickness.
• Lay consistent, high-quality weld beads on steel and metal parts according to job requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure all parts meet customer specifications and project requirements.
• Work with production supervisors to understand priorities and help achieve production targets and goals.
• Use fabrication equipment, such as brake presses and related tools, to form and fabricate metal components.
• Measure and verify dimensions using calipers and other measuring tools to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Lift and move materials and components weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and carry out tasks as directed by supervisors.
• Maintain a strong safety mindset by following all safety procedures, wearing required PPE, and operating equipment safely.
• Adapt to varying daily tasks and projects in a construction fabrication environment where work assignments may change from day to day.
• Keep the work area clean and organized to support safe and efficient operations.

• At least one year of welding experience or a recent welding certification.
• At least one year of fabrication experience using equipment such as brake presses and related fabrication tools.
• Proficiency in MIG welding on steel and metal components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Ability to use calipers and other measuring tools to verify dimensions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
• Ability to follow instructions and take direction from supervisors.
• Safety-oriented mindset and consistent adherence to safety procedures.
• Capability to work full-time and meet a minimum of 40 hours per week.

• Experience working in a construction fabrication or metal fabrication environment.
• Familiarity with brake press operation and other metal fabrication equipment.
• Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled facility with seasonal temperature changes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality welds and fabricated parts.
• Reliability and punctuality in meeting scheduled hours and production expectations.
• Willingness to work additional overtime hours as desired.

This opportunity offers long-term, stable welding positions with clear room for growth and advancement. After 90 days, you gain flexible access to the facility, allowing you to start earlier or later as long as you complete 40 hours per week. You can take advantage of as much overtime as you want, creating strong earning potential. The environment supports skill development in fabrication and welding, and the variety of tasks keeps the work engaging and dynamic.

You will work in an open metal fabrication facility/factory that is non-climate controlled. The environment is decently warm in winter, though it can be cold when shipping doors are open, and warmer in the summer with plenty of airflow. The role is on 1st shift, with core hours from Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and the expectation to work a minimum of 40 hours weekly, with the option for additional overtime. After 90 days, you will receive a key fob that allows you to start earlier or later while still meeting your weekly hour requirements. Eye protection and hearing protection are provided, and you are required to wear steel-toed boots as part of the dress code. The facility emphasizes safety and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment in a production-focused, hands-on fabrication setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mankato, MN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
