Qualifications At least 1 year of dental assisting (EDDA) experience Must have experience in multi‑surface filling and dentures Active CPR and AED training Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training Experience with dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) helpful Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are all a huge plus! Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred Essential Functions Assist the doctor in restorative procedures, composite fillings, crown and bridge, dentures, taking impressions, FMX, charting, sterilization, rubber dam placement, model pouring, root canals, and extractions Focus on patient and team safety as the top priority Adhere to OSHA and infection control protocols and dispose of sharps and clinical waste promptly and safely Maintain digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre‑authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details Educate patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health Monitor patients’ physical and emotional well‑being throughout the visit Prepare tray set‑ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures Ensure exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked to required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction Chart existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc. Review patient chart and health history before the doctor’s arrival and reconfirm the chief concern Take diagnostic quality X‑rays and attach them to the patient chart Assist the team in cleaning surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc. Perform all other duties as assigned Compensation Range: $24‑$28 per hour Physical Requirements Prolonged sitting and standing as needed Ability to lift up to 15 lbs Benefits New grads: start your career with Rodeo!
