Job Description

The Compounder operates, monitors, and adjusts multiple production line systems to ensure accurate mixing, filling, and packaging of products. This role sets up and changes over equipment, maintains fluid levels and cleanliness, and performs basic mechanical adjustments to keep production running safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and adjust all 2, 3, and 4-stem and Norden production line equipment to maintain consistent, efficient operation.
• Manipulate manual fill adjustments and case packer settings to ensure proper dispensation of product into the correct tubes and cartons.
• Set up and operate video jet coding equipment, including adjusting speeds and verifying correct date codes and proper placement on boxes and tubes.
• Replace and change tape rolls as needed and adjust line speeds to support production requirements.
• Maintain all fluid levels on assigned equipment and perform routine cleaning to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Perform accurate record keeping related to production runs, equipment settings, and line changes.
• Set up and perform changeovers for all 2, 3, and 4-stem and squeeze tube lines, including positioning tanks under ram presses using a sit-down forklift.
• Complete changeovers involving fill cylinders, fill valves, case packers, and transitions such as latex to solvent filler and 12 to 24 case packer configurations.
• Disassemble and reassemble machines as required, including installing fill cylinders and fill valves after maintenance cleaning.
• Inspect product quality during production, making necessary machine adjustments to maintain standards.
• Troubleshoot machine lines to identify issues, make adjustments, and perform minor repairs to minimize downtime.
• Lift and move materials and components weighing 75 pounds or more as needed to support production activities.
• Follow all safety procedures when working around chemicals and operating equipment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.

Essential Skills

• Experience in chemical mixing, compounding, and batch making with a strong focus on following recipes and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail in monitoring equipment, product quality, and documentation.
• Proficiency in sit-down forklift operation, including safe handling of tanks and materials.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds or more safely and repeatedly as part of daily tasks.
• Background in machine setup and adjustments for production lines.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine lines to make adjustments and perform minor repairs.
• Capability to inspect product quality and adjust machines to maintain specifications.
• Comfort working around chemicals while adhering to safety protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience with 2, 3, and 4-stem production lines and squeeze tube lines.
• Familiarity with Norden production line equipment or similar systems.
• Experience with video jet coding equipment and case packers.
• Mechanical aptitude for disassembling and assembling machinery components such as fill cylinders and fill valves.
• Experience working in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
• Ability to maintain accurate production and equipment records.

Work Environment

Overtime is paid daily after eight hours worked in a day. The facility is clean and climate controlled, providing a comfortable and organized production environment. The position involves both sitting and standing throughout the shift and requires regular work around chemicals. Team members wear safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, and aprons as standard personal protective equipment to ensure safe operations while handling materials and operating machinery.

This is a Permanent position based out of Tipp City, OH.

The pay range for this position is $47216.00 - $51376.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
