Actively Interviewing for Phlebotomist to Join Leading Diagnostic Client in Brookhaven, GA!The primary role of a Phlebotomist III is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. The position involves collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures and providing clear explanations of the venipuncture process to patients.ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment.Update patient information and collect/store specimens following established procedures.Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections clearly and courteously.Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.Understand and follow all physicians' orders.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes accurately.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.Ensure test requisitions or computer labels are 100% correct.Package specimens for transport and store sample specimens at the required temperature.Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results as needed.Essential SkillsValid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.High School Diploma or GED.5-7 years of phlebotomy experience.Ability to perform venipuncture on all age groups, from infants/pediatrics to geriatrics.Additional Skills & QualificationsCustomer service skills.Team player attitude.Experience with specimen collection.Ability to handle hard sticks using straight needles.Work EnvironmentThe position is based in a comprehensive health office operating Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. The role requires the individual to work independently, although assistance is available from an onsite technician if needed. The work environment is an In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) setting, with a requirement of performing 30+ draws daily. The job involves standing for several hours throughout the day. Approximately 3-4 weeks of training is provided at the start of the role.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
