Job Details Setting: Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown (PCU) Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN) Contract Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract Shift: 12-hour night shifts Shifts Per Week: 3 Weekly Hours: 36 Start Date: June 1, 2026 End Date: August 31, 2026 Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890 Location: Lorain, Ohio — a welcoming Lake Erie shoreline community with convenient access to nearby city amenities and strong local pride Qualifications / Job Requirements Active RN license in the state of practice or compact state licensure Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required BLS certification required ACLS certification required Previous acute care, telemetry, or stepdown experience preferred Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam Strong assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills Responsibilities Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to PCU and stepdown patients Perform ongoing assessments, identify changes in condition, and implement individualized care plans Administer medications and manage complex therapies according to policy and best practice Monitor telemetry and verify rhythm strips as required Provide care for patients with cardiac telemetry, vascular, and medical-surgical needs Manage common progressive care devices and therapies, including chest tubes, drains, high-flow oxygen, BiPAP/CPAP, and select drips Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient-centered care Educate patients and families while serving as an advocate for safety, quality, and positive outcomes Apply now for this travel nursing opportunity in Lorain, Ohio, and join a healthcare team committed to excellent patient care.
